No, I don't have a valid reason. It was just my favorite film. I thought it was the kind of art house film we just don't see anymore. Loved it.
Anvil! The Story of Anvil
Anvil wasn't just one of the best movies of the year, it's one of the best documentaries I've ever seen. Story of a band that tasted the top but never made it. Great movie.

Fantastic science fiction, which is hard to come by these days.

Awesome look at one job of one soldier in the Iraq War and how effects the mind.
The Fantastic Mr. Fox
Like Where The Wild Things Are, I don't know why I loved it so much. Just left me feeling warm and fuzzy. ( I might be enjoying these films more because I have a kid and I'm thinking about him seeing them someday)

The Informant!
This film took some heat but it's a brilliant look at a mental disorder, handled with such subtlety it was amazing. The voice over seems annoying but in the end I came to realize was perfect.
It Might Get Loud
Jack White, The Edge and Jimmy Page talking music and guitars. Really fantastic.

Easily could have been left off the list but I want to give credit to the filmmaker for creating something so different with such a small budget.

I watched 'Basterds' again after reading this. There really is a lot of talking at tables, and not enough Nazi killing. If they ever make a Wolfenstein flick, that should bring a(kick ass) end to the WWII movie plots.
i hated zombieland
first 10 minutes where ok, then it just bored the shit out of me. and when the zombies came out to play it was just a disapointing
